Residential Therapeutic Homes

Where there is Love there is Life

In our Residential Therapeutic homes, teens live on-site with 24-hour support and supervision. Which consists of three homes; 19 beds, 2 female facilities, and 2 male facilities, treating families all over Ohio. At Second Chance Dayton we understand many teens both young women, and men may suffer from mental health disorders, behavioral and/or emotional difficulties, needing the guidance of our residential program’s compassionate staff, structure, nurturing, and safe environment. We promote the development of coping skills, a healthy sense of self-esteem, and autonomy in every interaction we have with every one of our clients participating in our residential programs. We offer a variety of programs within the agency in which those living in our residential home are required to participate in as a part of one’s progress. As there is no such thing as a bad child, and no one child alike, we ensure that each teen who comes to us has an individualized service plan based upon a cognitive-behavioral model of treatment that will meet all of their needs in order to transition youth.

What To Expect ?

1

Personal Growth Focus

Upon enrollment, we meticulously craft a service plan geared towards fostering personal development, emphasizing achievement and facilitating a seamless transition towards a stable and sustainable integration into a positive environment during their stay in our residential program.

2

Priority: Education in Treatment

While treatment remains paramount in our residential program, we prioritize education by ensuring all teens attend public school within the area. If deemed necessary by the teen's support group, homeschooling is accommodated. Our dedicated staff oversees all educational activities during treatment, guaranteeing safe and appropriate computer use for school-related tasks.

3

Balanced Transition Approach

Our clinical team endeavors to strike a balanced approach that caters to the needs of families, caseworkers, and additional support systems. Whether it involves successful program completion, returning home, stepping down to a lower level of care, or emancipation, transitions are handled with flexibility and informality, facilitating a smoother adjustment.

4

Recreation Integration for Holistic Treatment

Recognizing the importance of holistic treatment, we encourage recreational activities as part of our comprehensive approach. Teens are allowed time for various recreations such as cheer, basketball, tennis, and visits to the recreation center, library, golf courses, and movies, ensuring a balanced lifestyle that complements their treatment plan.
