Ohio's Premier Residential Therapeutic Program

At the residential level of care, our residents live on-site with 24-hour support and supervision. We treat adolescents and young adults from all contracted counties within the great state of Ohio. Our program offers a level of quality which SCD has committed to endorsing positive choices for our residents through role modeling, skill building, self- respect, and leadership. SCD objective is to provide access to a residential environment; which is safe, nurturing, and supportive of the residents and families that we serve. SCD Residential Therapeutic Program harness the positive power of the family dynamic by creating an environment that look and feel like home. They’re small, serene, and quiet, with never more than five to six residents (depending on location) at a time in any one of our residential locations. Every resident feels like they’re in a personal, individualized location designed to meet their specific therapeutic needs.

Individualized Programs

Our staff approaches residents with cognitive-behavioral, trauma-informed treatment to ensure results. SCD programs consist of positive peer culture driven with the utilization of peer counseling, feedback, and support. These programs are rendered to assist with transition planning and support with family therapy in preparation for reunification. Everything we do is geared toward changing behavior and finding the right combination of treatment and support. Since no two residents are alike, no two treatment plans are alike. During the admissions process, we conduct a thorough assessment, establish a baseline, and create an individual plan based on specific needs and goals.

Experienced, Professional Staff

Our Residential Specialists are handpicked to provide the highest level of compassionate and therapeutic care for residents. In addition, SCD staff includes a Case Manager, Supervising Independent Social Worker (LISW-S), Licensed Social Worker (LSW), Registered nurse (RN), and a Licensed Therapist. Our staff is made up of experienced professionals who bring a diverse and eclectic background to the Residential Therapeutic Program. Staff undergoes training in Mental Health First Aid Youth & Adult, QPR Suicide, and Trauma Responsiveness. SCD understands that having staff that are experienced and parents themselves goes a long way when helping residents through the challenges of substance issues, behavioral problems, and emotional challenges.
