In 2021, Ohio, with a population of 11,675,275, experienced significant challenges in child welfare, as highlighted by the Public Children Services Association of Ohio's Factbook. With the complexity and severity of the challenges faced by Ohio's children and families it is Second Chance Dayton goal to provide and save and nurturing environment to youth that have been neglected and or abused.

To do this, a five-year strategic plan guides the growth of Second Chance Dayton, the sole provider of services for youth struggling with behavior and emotional needs.
