Second Chance Dayton Group Home is dedicated to improving the quality of life of young men and women who may suffer from behavioral and/or emotional difficulties.

The essential quality of the Second Chance Dayton Group Home experience provides access to a residential therapeutic environment; which is safe, nurturing, and supportive of the youth and families that we serve. We are obligated and committed to endorsing positive choices for our youth through role modeling, skill building, self-respect, and leadership.

In addition, Second Chance Dayton Group Home strives to achieve positive, lasting results through; structure, expectations, choices, and consequences. We believe there is no such thing as a bad child; we believe that a child acts or reacts in a specified way for various reasons.

Our goal at Second Chance Dayton Behavioral Health is to maintain and improve the patient’s quality of life and enhance the patient’s self-respect and dignity. SCD offers inclusive and integrated treatment services that are individualized for your specific needs. We will provide a positive environment that is nurturing and supports the mental health and well-being of every client.

Marquita Davis

In 2015, Marquita Davis, Director of Second Chance Dayton Group Home designed a program to foster principle-centered leadership, improved self-esteem, and a positive peer culture group home female facility. The success of this program and her passion for youth encouraged her to expand services by opening more facilities for both young women and men.

Marquita Davis is influenced by people doing extraordinary things, concepts that push the envelope and the beauty of this terrestrial world people live in. Marquita is married to the love of her life and the proud mother of three incredible kids. She works everyday with an amazing team, focused on helping teens in crisis and their families find hope and healing. Having worked with teens and their families for years, she has seen the change that can come to families who seek the help they need. Marquita Davis attended school at Franklin University where he studied Criminal Justice in Columbus, Ohio. After graduating, she and her family returned to Dayton, Ohio where they have made their home. It is here that Marquita found her passion for helping families and teens and wanted to help others achieve the dream of a healthy family and lifestyle. Since her start of the group home, Marquita has developed a behavioral health unit in 2019. In her role as founder and Director of SCD Marquita is thankful for good friends, and the knowledge of God. She has made commitment to protect our children, fight for those who are downtrodden and always, always find an excuse to jump in help when person is in need.

Admissions

Second Chance Dayton Group Home is a 24-hour a day, 7-day a week behavioral facility aimed at providing the highest level of independence and self-respect. Changing behaviors through leadership skills while improving or eliminating Residents’ emotional and behavioral problems are aims of the administration and staff of Second Chance Dayton Group Home. Accepting young men and women ages 11 to 21.

SCD will accept resident experiencing problems with DSM- Psychiatric disorder diagnostic categories. Due to a wide range of diagnosis served, the program admission criteria do not restrict on the basis of a diagnostic condition. All applicants for admissions are reviewed on a case- to- case basis.
